Redemption is now recruiting all classes for membership

Redemption is pleased to announce that we are now recruiting all classes level 20 and up for membership in the guild.  We encourage you to read our Guild Policy , register for an account, and submit an application for consideration (under level 80 does not need to apply, simply contact an officer ingame for an invitation).  Our membership requirements are further down this page.  If you have any further questions about Redemption, feel free to contact Ivisi through an ingame tell, or use the Contact Us option at the top of this website to reach us offline.

Please visit the thread here to read about a new Guild security policy that is being implemented.

With the amount of account hacks we've seen over the last few days, I feel it is in our best interest to strengthen our current policies concerning guild ranks and guild bank access.  Details are in the thread linked above.

I used this program a few times long ago, and didn't really like it much until recently, when I learned it had evolved into a useful program. Now, it is the tool to have to evaluate and compare gear. Develop a specific shopping list with Rawr and you'll never had to look at another piece of loot and wonder if it's the right upgrade or not. Rawr bases its recommendations on your class, talent spec, and current gear. You can even include raid buffs to get a better idea of how each suggested item will affect your efficiency in a raid. You can download the latest version of Rawr at http://www.codeplex.com/Rawr or you can learn more about it in our Members forum.

We are very excited to see so many new faces in the guild. Redemption's officers have heard some very nice things from some of our newer guildies and we just want to thank all of our members, new and vet, for the incredible success of Redemption! In an effort to better acquaint the newer people to our guild, I'm posting links to some important forum threads. Please read these posts, and contribute where asked, to be sure that you are in sync with the rest of the guild.

Mission Statement  - This describes what our guild is all about. Please read, if you haven't.

Raiding Policies  - This forum post is accessible to members only, and should be read and understood by anyone wishing to raid.

Declaring Your Main Spec - This forum post is accessible to members only, and it is REQUIRED that all those wishing to raid sign up on this post. If you want to raid in Redemption, you must sign up in the thread linked here.

Guild Policies

Mission Statement

Redemption is a raiding guild that is comprised of adult, mature-minded, veteran gamers focused on enjoying ourselves as we advance through the content of World of Warcraft. We are dedicated to a fun and friendly gaming experience, where every member of Redemption is important and where everyone’s voice is heard. We adhere to the principle of H.I.E.R. (Honesty, Integrity, Equanimity, and Respect) in our dealings with each other and the other players of WoW. We currently run all 5 man instances (normal and heroic), and are currently progressing through ICC 10, with the death of the Lich King fast approaching.

Who We Are

Redemption is an established guild (circa May, 2008) formed by (mostly) members of a worldwide gaming guild called "Rebel Squadrons", which is where the H.I.E.R. (pronounced "Higher") principle is adopted from. Most of our officers have been around since Beta and are very knowledgeable about the game in general.

In our several years of gaming, together and independently, we find that when these H.I.E.R virtues are present in a guild, success can be the only future. We intend to continue that belief as Redemption grows, and welcome those that share the same virtues.

Policies

  • Redemption is an adult guild, not a family guild. Our guild chat and vent conversations can be quite colorful, and while not always mature, these are often deemed inappropriate for players under the age of 18. Exceptions are sometimes made, but as a general recruitment rule, we cannot accept any new members under the age of 18.
  • Redemption is a member-oriented PvE guild. Everyone, from the newest recruit to the Guild Leader, is willing to assist other members of the guild, when possible. Every guild member has different goals and ambitions, and we encourage our membership with advice, resources and assistance when needed. However, we do not power level lower toons or spoil new recruits with free loot.
  • Redemption is led by a guild leader and a cadre of advisors. Not every policy or decision made by the leadership of the guild will be popular. Sometimes these decisions are open for discussion, and if a member brings concerns to light, the officers of the guild will do their best to address those concerns, when possible. Creating the guild was a collaborative effort and we believe every member’s input is important. Redemption’s officers vow that we will always strive to be honest and straightforward with every member of our guild.
  • The officers and members of Redemption do not condone, nor will we tolerate any kind of discrimination (racial, religious, homophobic), either in game or in vent. Violations of this policy will be dealt with swiftly.
  • Redemption members caught breaking the Blizzard EULA or TOS (by another player or by Blizzard) will face consequences in-guild, up to and including removal from the guild. These infractions are those seen as faulty, dishonest or cheating practices, and include (but are not limited to) gold-selling/buying, boosts, and ninja-looting.
  • Redemption's primary goal for its members is to have fun, and to grow as players. Whether a member's goal is to level alts, gear for raids, PvP or just quest ... we support them and will support any new member who is here to enjoy the game in their own way. We will be doing raiding, but no member of Redemption will ever be forced to raid or take part in any game activity they don't wish to.

  • — The Daily Quest: Accessorizing

       (Tuesday, 07 September 2010 21:00)

Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.

I have far too many armor sets. In fact, I have mostly completed every armor set except for tier 3, which is no longer obtainable because it existed in the original 40-man Naxxramas instance. I even have the Postmaster's Set -- don't ask how long it took to farm. Needless to say, fashionable accessories are all kinds of fun, and today we've got some links from around the blogosphere about accessories, both virtual and otherwise:
    • Like that shirt pictured above? We do, too -- it's from Lee Bretschneider of Adventuring Company, and you can preorder it at his store.

    • — Totem Talk: Restoration glyphs

         (Tuesday, 07 September 2010 20:00)

Want to be a sultan of swing healing? A champion of Chain Heal? Totem Talk: Restoration will show you how, brought to you by Joe Perez, otherwise known as Lodur from World of Matticus and the For The Lore podcast
      .

Last week, we went over some blue posts about healing and restoration shaman, as well as a small discussion of the difference in Healing Waves. We also had news of a new beta build last week, and with that build came the news of brand new glyphs for many or the classes like rogues and shaman, as well as the new glyph system.

Some of the glyphs we use regularly have been updated, as well as some people may not have really given much thought to using. There has even been a return of some that...

    • — Shifting Perspectives: Notes from bizarro world

         (Tuesday, 07 September 2010 19:00)

Every Tuesday, Shifting Perspectives explores issues affecting druids and those who group with them. This week, we squint at a series of notes scattered around our computer.

So there's a weird new bug on the beta causing people to disconnect whenever they hit a 5-man. I first realized this was happening around the time I finished a laborious sketch of what to expect in Stonecore to a group that hadn't yet seen the dungeon. I assigned group marks, went over mob abilities and gave a detailed explanation of how to handle the first boss. Around the time I finished this triumph of 5-man leadership, I noticed that everyone in the group had gone eerily silent. Moments later, they were -- to a man -- revealed to be offline.

      Readers, I cried.

Crazy. But the disconnect bug is pretty...

    • — Lichborne: Death knight beta diaries, part 4: Two-handed frost and other beta minutae

         (Tuesday, 07 September 2010 18:00)

Welcome to Lichborne, your weekly source for news, guides, tips and opinions on the death knight class.

In the latest beta patch, Blizzard was so kind as to bump the level cap up to 85, in addition to opening Uldum and Twilight Highlands, the last two major leveling zones in the expansion. Unfortunately, neither zone is itemized, but more on that later. In my testing this past week, I've delved in the long-dead, dormant spec of two-handed frost. The spec was officially killed off (at least in the sense of having competitive DPS) in the latter part of Wrath, when Blizzard decided to make frost the official spec of dual wielding. However, with the advent of Cataclysm, that is changing. With blood becoming a dedicated tanking tree, it left unholy as the only two-handed weapon tree. Recognizing that some players...

    • — Guest Post: Is your computer ready for Cataclysm?

         (Tuesday, 07 September 2010 17:00)

This article has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW.com.

The Lich King is dead, your GearScore is 6,000+, and you have enough alts to run your own 25-man ICC. You cannot wait for the upcoming Cataclysm expansion, but along with the new instances, gear and level cap, there are also significantly increased graphics to consider. You may be ready for Cataclysm -- but is your computer?

While we have yet to hear official system requirements from Blizzard, we do know from the Cataclysm FAQ that "there will be incremental tweaks and updates to the graphics engine in this expansion. For example, we've made improvements to the way that water is rendered. We'll announce the exact system requirements closer to the expansion's release."

This is the first part of...
